Starting June 16, 2008 for 16 weeks - new dancers class.
First 3 classes FREE, then $5.00 per person each class.
St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Hall
Square dancing, unlike some activities, is a complete physical exercise that has added dividends of long-term health benefits. Square dancers share a love of music, movement, teamwork and sociability. Together, they move to the rhythm of the music, keeping physically fit and mentally on their toes as they quickly react to the caller. The dancing centers around learning calls through classes that blend into a never-ending series of changes.
The formations and movements require practice. As dancers improve their skills, they advance to Mainstream (68 different calls) and then to Plus Level (30 different calls). Attendance at lessons is important as each lesson builds on the one before and strengthens the dancers' progress. It is a physical and mental challenge at any age, but very sociable and makes for a worthwhile joyful evening.
Participants are encouraged to take the class with a dance partner, but a partner is not required. Four couples are needed to form a square. Bring your friends and neighbors for an entertaining, and inexpensive evening.
